Front Porch Political Talk Episode 85: Negative Acceptance

We had a great discussion on this episode! Not all of the articles made it through due to the constraints of time but they all had something important to add when it came to the concept of negative acceptance.

Front Porch Political Talk Episode 73: Off a Cliff

We didn't make it through much of the speech but that may be because there were other topics to discuss on top of that.

The next episode will include more from Trump's speech but also bring in news from the DNC.

Front Porch Political Talk Episode 9: Forcing Their Opinions

Another episode, another great conversation! We didn't agree on every issue and that's okay because we talked about the articles withot requiring everyone to be in lock-step. We spent a lot of time talking about Bitcoin and the regulation of that as well as how Planet Fitness might have caused some angst in its own customer base. Those weren't the only things on the agenda, so listen in to hear the whole show!

Articles for Front Porch Political Talk #9: Forcing Their Opinions

When looking at the news there are times when it's painfully obvious that agendas and opinions are being pushed. In this episode we are focusing on articles that show this in a number of different ways.

There has been an unexpected change for the podcast's presence in Second Life. We say goodbye to Sunset River as the home of the Republican Party of SL and hello to a consolidated location on Cheertopia. Outside of SL we are also finalizing the options for folks to subscribe using either Patreon or Joyride. Articles for this episode:

Episode 294: They Think They Know

We had a fun time talking about what people thought they knew… on a variety of different issues. In most of the cases the concensus was that the people involved didn't think much beyond the "good idea".

One thing I mentioned in the intro that I want to reiterate here in text. That is your opportunity to be a part of the podcast. We don't care where you are or your "stated political leanings" so long as you're willing to join in the conversation and keep things civil. Our podcast isn't strictly about the East Coast, nor does everyone that participates have to be a conservative! If you feel you've got something to add and can verbalize it well, feel free to call in.

Also, please be sure to visit our sponsor! You can get a free 30 day trial at Audible.com as well as a free audiobook by going to http://www.audibletrial.com/eastcoastconservative and signing up. The recommended book for this week is "Sh-t My Dad Says" by Justin Halpern. It's an interesting look and a reminder to delve beyond the gruff exterior of people around us. Despite what Joesf says in the recording, we're not sponsored by Rosetta Stone... as funny as the bit was!

Articles for Episode 294: They Think They Know

I have long thought that most government actions, especially when it comes to domestic policy, start with a nugget of good will or a good idea and then becomes corrupted as it makes its way through the system. In this episode we're going to be examining the actions that could cause such changes to happen to a good idea as to make them profoundly bad.

There was quite a bit that happened this past week and with many of the stories I read, I shook my head and said, "this can't end well." Those are the articles that are up for discussion this evening. With everything from the EEOC to Duck Dynasty to Jimmy Carter, you know it's going to be an interesting discussion!

Episode 198: Words Mean Things

I've said the phrase, "words mean things," for quite some time. This time it was the subject for the show.  We got rather side-tracked on a couple of articles but made the point.

We are still asking our listeners to nominate us for the 7th Annual People's Choice Podcast Awards.  We're running in the "Politics/News" section and the number of nominations actually impacts a show's placement on the voting when all is said and done.  Only the top 10 shows nominated will be eligible to be voted on.  We're asking for your help in putting us in the "Politics/News" category at http://podcastawards.com/.  You can only put one nomination form in, so if there are other podcasts/genres you want to nominate for, get them together and submit them before September 30th.

Listen to our show and many other great conservative podcasts, streamed 24/7 on the Red State Talk Radio Network. Visit their site at http://www.redstatetalkradio.com. You can also find the show on Stitcher radio, a new mobile-only service for the iThings and Android. Learn more at stitcher.com.

Episode 159: Not Listening!

'Tis the season, or at least it should be! Tonight we're going to talk about a number of items were people in power either did not or are not listening. We actually had too many stories for the time and ran over a bit!

Episode 157: Sanctimonious Insanities

As the US approaches the insanity of Christmas shopping, I thought it would be fun to look at some other crazy things that have surfaced in the news. We also have to talk about the compromoise proposal between the President and the Republicans.

We opened the show with three "fun" stories, all related and all actually news. The biggest point was the breakdown of the President's briefing on the tax cut compromise and the fact that Bill Clinton had to come in to talk it up!

Episode 156: Enough!

It seems like there have been a few things coming to a boiling point with people. We had a swing of power at the midterms and now more things are starting to become rational... or are they? Tonight we discuss some articles where people are getting their "due" and others where they're almost there.

Episode 155: Pushing More Buttons

Tonight marks the beginning of our third year in the podcast! We celebrate by recording the show late and praying that everything comes together... which is how things started in the first place. Rather than ponder the past, we're looking at some current issues that are pushing more buttons with the general public.

This is a busy travel time for most of America. Unfortunately, it's also a busy quarter for work. You need a tool that will help you conduct business even when you’re not face-to-face with clients or colleagues, and Go To Meeting by Citrix is that tool!  Host unlimited meetings from anywhere, share your desktop or collaborate on a document all from your PC.  Try it free for 45 days by going to GoToMeeting.com and using the promo code PODCAST.

There is one slight logistical correction to what was said in the show. I invited folks to come back and join us for the first show in our third year. I'll blame it on being tired or just not paying attention - it will be the first episode in our fourth year!
