Front Porch Political Talk Episode 83: Crumbling

While there were some good examples of the deteriorating state of the political aspects of the country, not everything is bad news. We had a great conversation about the issues in the articles and a few other things.

They can be repaired or even replaced but for that to happen we must first take stock of what is happening. In this episode we are going to look at a variety of areas where structures that some hold dear are starting to show their wear. Articles for this episode:

Front Porch Political Talk Episode 73: Off a Cliff

We didn't make it through much of the speech but that may be because there were other topics to discuss on top of that.

The next episode will include more from Trump's speech but also bring in news from the DNC.

Episode 304: Thought Police

This had to be one of the more vocal episodes that we've had in a while. Definitely on-topic and thought provoking! We didn't manage to make it through most of the examples and some of them appear to be, "business as usual." We also were thrilled to welcome Naj back to the show after a bit of a hiatus.

Articles for Episode 304: Thought Police

One of the things that is said constantly on this show is that people should make their own decisions about what's going on in the country and whether it's a good or bad thing. Apparently there are those that would prefer it not be that way. In this episode we're going to talk about their attempts to convince, sway or force the American public to look at events though their particular lens. Articles for this episode:
Those that watch our Twitter feed at ECConservative will notice that not all of the articles tweeted over the past week are showing up here this time. We had something of a "twittersplosion" and the articles below are the more relevant (or less repetitive) of the activity.

Episode 272: Learning to Help

Another fun episode! There are definitely some bright and dark spots when it comes to our educational system as well as the services that are provided to help others. After a bit of a rocky start we get into the conversation and uncover some interesting gems.

Episdode 248: Trying to Stay Positive

As I said in the show notes article, we started the show off trying to stay positive... and for the most part we managed to succeed!  There were a few times that I had to remind Ken (and myself) of our goal but according to feedback from folks during the recording session we did a "fairly passable" job.  What do you think?

Episode 154: Is Anybody Listening?

Sometimes I look at the news and ask myself this question - is anyone truly listening to what the news folks are saying? We have an ethics conviction, a terror acquittal, waivers, pat-downs and outright admissions of failure and all people can focus on is the royal engagement!

Episode 115: A Tale of Two Parties

In tonight's show we are going to talk about a few local items and then plow into a couple of articles about the movements being made at the Tea Party convention. We also have to make a few remarks about the President's plans for the near future and what impact that may have.

Click Here to download the show or open the Blubrry player on the right (the blue round thing). Thanks for listening!

Actually, as the discussion moved forward, the Tea Party seems to be coming out less as a third party and more as a political power. This is good on a number of different levels. First and foremost is the fact that, as systems are set up today, any candidate that wants a chance of winning needs to have the support of either one of the majority parties (GOP/DNC) or have a LOT of personal prestiege. By working as a power, the Tea Party can back candidates that support a fiscally conservative platform regardless of the letter at the end of their name.

Ken kept an eye on the game (it *was* Superbowl Sunday, after all) and called the game for the Saints 3 minutes in. Guess they will come marching home after all!

One thing that was mentioned during the show that will be updated on the site this week - the show for next week will probably be postponed or potentially cancelled. We'll have to see how things progress.

This past week was another busy news week and we're going to touch on just a few of the items that have come up. There were also a couple of important presentations that have to be reviewed. The Statue of the Union lecture and the rant that he gave when the House Republicans to meet with him.

Episode 107: Schools, Speeches, Spending and Stupid Decisions

In this week's episode, we are going to dig in to a few different items that need the attention. First, Obama's Nobel acceptance speech with captioning courtesy of the Huffington Post. Then we're going to talk about that oh-so-nasty financial reform bill that was pushed through the House. Finally we've got an update on those poor enemy combatants being kept in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and what's going to happen to them. Episode 97: Back and Forth

It seems that since the Left can no longer use emotion and manipulation to silence the Right, they're going to go for blatant name-calling and intimidation. Unfortunately (for them) even the media is starting to see the holes in their Swiss cheese logic and the Right is coming out more and more rather than hiding. Episode 46: Diary Juice States Ray's Blue Bills Debate Child Tax

We're back on schedule and up to staff with Ken back from his trip. Tonight there were a LOT of things to cover in our short hour! As a matter of fact, we had to postpone talking about the Bailout for a show on it's own... look for something later in the week on that one! Great participation, both in Second Life at the Republican Party's new theater (see it, follow the SLURL to http://slurl.com/secondlife/Keen/128/115/22/?title=Republican%20Amphitheater) and in TalkShoe!
