Front Porch Political Talk Episode 77: Odd Decisions

This episode might have been missing a couple of voices but we had a lot of input from both TalkShoe and SecondLife. The odd decisions we managed to make it to definitely fit the category of interesting and a couple of tangents didn't hurt either. Be prepared to hear praise for people and institutions that don't normally get it from us and some countervailing views on different issues.

Front Porch Political Talk Episode 71: Alternate Reality

I felt a lot more grounded at the end of this episode than I did at the beginning. We covered a lot of the subjects and even had a good belly laugh at the beginning. Some of the commentary may sound a bit choppy because I had to edit out some excess noise. Nothing of value was lost though.

Sometimes it feels like we're living in an alternate reality. That might be because of education, environment, experience or some combination of the three. Whatever it is, our nation once again faces uncertain times thanks to events of the past week. Articles for this episode:

Front Porch Political Talk Episode 20: The Results Are In

Yup, the results are in and it was definitely a "see we told you so" show in several cases. There are some tangent conversations and it was interesting how some folks took different articles in different ways.

Articles for Front Porch Political Talk #20: The Results Are In

When major policy actions or changes take place, there is always a group that makes predictions that some say will never happen. In this episode we are going to look at cases where they do. They aren't specifically bad results in some cases, rather they are instances where the predictions have run true.

Articles for Episode 264: Hot Potato

Looking over the articles that were collected over the past week, it was rather difficult to settle on a single subject for this episode. I ended up picking three issues that are currently being bandied about by the media and political pundits so we could add our input to them.

Before I give the list of articles, I also wanted to share a new site that I found that isn't really an article. Pop Vox is a site that allows you to see bills that are going through the cogs of our political machine and share your opinions on them.

Here are the articles for this episode:
Like I said, there were a lot of articles to pick from this week. This show could have gone a number of different ways. Please, if there are stories you'd like to discuss that we didn't make it to, feel free to add your comments below!

Episode 261: Coal for Christmas

Something of an odd Christmas present, but the show's recorded and ready for download several hours early!  There was a scheduling conflict so Ken and I decided that rather than push the recording off we'd do the show at 2pm today.

We talked about the folks that should and should not get a lump of coal for Christmas this year.  I'll be posting a picture of my new voter registration card as well, following up on a promise made a few episodes back.

Articles for Episode 261: Coal for Christmas

This episode is being recorded earlier in the day (2:00pm Eastern) due to a scheduling conflict this evening.

What can I say? There are some folks that just deserve coal in their stockings. We're going to be talking about them, and some that don't deserve it as well. We didn't want to talk about just the gun issue, but it is on the list today.

Here are the articles:
And yup, there's more to discuss as well. Here are the stories that didn't make the list.

Episode 258: Failures At Home and Abroad

In this episode we talked about the failures of both parties and were joined by a new caller, Naj, and gave an excellent example of how people of different political viewpoints can share some ideas and politely disagree on others.  The failures are happening right now from both parties and in some cases nothing has changed.

This episode officially starts our 6th season!  With it we launch our new website as well.  We're also working to bring back podcast related merchandise.  Keep an eye on the website for more details!

Articles for Episode 258: Failures At Home and Abroad

Back to our regular time, we've got a bit of a doozie planned. Heading into the end of the year we see the status quo acting exactly as expected. There are things that need to be dealt with both domestically and abroad and the handling of it leaves much to be desired.

Before we get into the articles, I have to ask a favor. Please go to Red State Talk Radio's 2012 Talk Show of the Year poll and vote for our show. We can't do this without your support. Here are the articles for this episode:
You can bet there were other articles. Here they are:
