Front Porch Political Talk Episode 92: TurDuckEn

Quite the mish-mash of topics with some good conversation on most of them. As usual we didn't make it all the way through the articles.  The week got away from me, apologies for the late post.

Articles for Episode 359: Getting Into the Holiday Spirit

It's the beginning of the Christmas (or whatever holiday you prefer to celebrate, don't steal my thunder) Season and with that we are going to look at the insanity that is required or even expected. In this episode we're going to have a look at giving, taking and even some politics.

This is also the quasi-anniversary of the podcast! We are now rolling into our 8th season. There have been some bumps, some delays and a lot of growth over the years. Thank you to everyone for your continued support of this endeavor. Articles for this episode:

Episode 306: Doubling Down

The politicians are doubling down and so are we! We had a lively discussion in this episode that included lots of laughs and some serious moments as well.

One of the interesting questions raised by Larry is what's going to happen in the future to the people pushing some of these questionable agendas. Sadly we can only assume the answer for the moment will be, "nothing."

Articles for Episode 306: Doubling Down

Given the season and the recent political events, you might expect that folks might take a bit of a breather. You'd be wrong. Politicians from both sides of the aisle are doubling down on their stances. In some cases they're bringing more evidence and in others they're standing by their claims. There are even some that are backpedaling to revise what they said to match reality.

In this episode we're going to be discussing a few different items that give examples of this. It's always an interesting discussion and we hope you can join us any Sunday night at 8:30pm eastern! Articles for this episode:
Just a few other articles to add for reading this week.

Episdode 248: Trying to Stay Positive

As I said in the show notes article, we started the show off trying to stay positive... and for the most part we managed to succeed!  There were a few times that I had to remind Ken (and myself) of our goal but according to feedback from folks during the recording session we did a "fairly passable" job.  What do you think?

Guest Host The Conservative Underground - It's All About the Money

Ken and I are acting as guest hosts for The Conservative Underground show, a member of the Red State Talk Radio network, lending a hand to host Doc Wythe. It's hosted on a different service with a different dial-in number. If you want to join in on the call, you'll need to dial in to (347) 884-9470 or visit http://tobtr.com/s/2066611 to join the chat.

We're running our usual format, just on a different show! Here are the articles for this episode:
I'll have to figure out how to get this show available for download by our regular podcast listeners, but it'll be available on the Red State network as one of the Conservative Underground shows.

Episode 187: Narrative and Counter

The political maneuvering for 2012 has begun in earnest already and, while much of it is "status quo" there seems to be a lot going on from both sides of the aisle to define and counter-define the opposition and the issues.

Tonight's recording has some technical issues - mainly caused by the fact that I'm recording on a less than optimal Internet connection.  There's still lots of good items talked about!  One link not included in the show notes is the history of the debt ceiling, as found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:US_Public_Debt_Ceiling_Trillions.png.  Our Conservative Minute was provided by Stefan Bartelski, host of the Patriot Come Lately podcast.

Episode 181: New Tone My Toe

I'm really tired of hearing about the so-called "new tone" that is constantly promised by candidates during the campaign season.  In this episode we're going to talk about the lack of any change in tone in politics, regardless of who promised it.

Articles for Episode 179: What Are They Talking About?

Here are the articles that we're planning on talking about during the podcast for May 15, 2011.  As you may have noticed in last week's podcast, we did not make it through all of the articles.  If we don't get to one and you want to discuss it, be sure to let us know!  You can either post a comment here or email us at conservativepodcast@gmail.com.

They're talking, are we listening?  In this episode we are going to discuss some of the messages that have been sent by judgements, bills and speeches.  Join us for the conversation at 8:30pm on Sundays or listen any time here!
