Episode 228: Lies and Mythdemeanors

Well, we got through some of what we planned on... though the myths part never made it to the conversation.  With Ken out this week we had Shorahmin as our guest co-host.  Toawa and Joesf also joined in on the call.  Lots of talk about the health care bill and what's ailing the educational and medical systems.  We did stick to our promise from last week to talk about the new proposals of the Health Care overhaul from the GOP, and it turns out that by some estimations it's not all honey and roses!

Articles for Episode 228: Lies and Mythdemeanors

Tonight it's a mixed bag. There's talk about health care, campaigning and some of the common myths that democrats, the media and liberals like to throw around about conservatives. Here are the links for tonight's show:

Episode 223: Taps, Tabs and Threats

Well, this was a really fun episode with a ton of listener interaction and news articles that, for whatever reason, don't seem to make the evening news.  We even had two of our regular listeners join in for the last part of the show.

Click Here to download the podcast, or listen using the Blubrry player (the blue ball on the right of the page).

We are now using Twitter to track the news articles that we may incorporate into the episodes.  If you want to follow along at home through the week, suggest articles or comment on a previous episode follow us @ECConservative and be a part of the conversation.

Episode 221: Where is Our Apology?

Ya know, it really helps when I actually post the podcast episode to the website in a timely manner!  Sorry for the delay in getting this one online folks!  We had some fun talking about a variety of things that officials (or public figures) apologized for and other things that will never get one.

Click Here to download the podcast, or listen using the Blubrry player (the blue ball on the right of the page).

One interesting impact of not posting the episode until later is the fact that I get to include a comment thread I received via IM from one of our regular listeners:

D: I don't listen to Randi myself...I find her too harsh. but I don't think your comparison holds water. Rush is on what, 6,000 stations and is in the news virtually every day. Randi is on what, 6? She might talk a lot of trash, but if it's under the radar, nobody will ever pay attention to it.
ECC: That's akin to saying nobody's going to listen to the pastor of a small church that says he's going to have a Qua'ran BBQ, right?

Episode 220: Govicide- Comply

No show notes for the episode tonight, we had an interview with Edward Dentzel, author of Govicide: Comply.  We did have a bit of a conversation about personal responsibility and the other news of the week.  The interview provides excellent insight into the novel and gives a taste of the story.

Episode 158: And Miles To Go

Taking the title from a Robert Frost poem, it appears that Congress is not wasting a minute of their lame duck session before the "holiday" break. We've got quite a few things to discuss."

We had a good show this weekend, including what turned out to be a dodged bullet from a call-in and several refrences to popcorn... mmm, popcorn! There were many questions asked about how the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" would actually be implemented, including how Article 125 of the UCMJ would be impacted, what it would mean for fraternization rules and uniform design.

Here is the updated list of articles for the show.  No questions tonight, they just flowed.

Episode 112: Multi-Tasking Majority

In tonight's show we're going to have to jump all over the place! We've got news on the health care front, news on the race in Massachusetts senate seat, articles from across the world and items on the continuing efforts in Haiti. We've got articles for the show but to be honest if we stray from script tonight we're not going to be too upset.

We actually didn't stray 'too bad'... the show went rather well and we even managed to keep things relatively on time!

Episode 83: In Who's Name?

Tonight we're going to be talking about religion and politics - two things that affect most of us. The theme of the show for the evening is, "Who's name are these people talking in?" We're going to focus on some good and some not so good things that have come out in the news recently. The show turned out to be as fun as promised! We had a good turnout in both TalkShoe and SecondLife and managed to get through almost all of the articles selected. One of the more interesting discussions, which I would like to see more of and get comments on, is the one of where the Republican party needs to go to win in 2010! During the show I talked about the community at RepublicanOperative.com! We now have a discussion forum there and you can access it by going to http://www.republicanoperative.com/forums/ecc-podcast-episodes/. Also, our facebook page is up and running and of course we have our store at Printfection.com/eccstuff. Items discussed in this episode:

Episode 67: Socialism and Legalism

Our episode tonight has a secondary title - "Socialist porn book attacks Rush while Officers scream." This week provided a lot of different subjects to speak about! Interestingly, there were a lot of side conversations in Second Life, some of which I was able to bring in to the show. As an example, Trinity wanted to know why we were nit-picking on Obama's actions and not talking about the 900B being spent. In short, we've talked about it, we're working on it, we're going to talk about it again. I've actually worked hard to not talk about taxes and spending and earmarks and pork. Why? Well, there needs to be more than just that discussed and we have a limited time format. So we talked about it for a little while and then moved on to the topics of the evening, which included the following articles:

Episode 66: Obama, Rush and Israel - Porn or Coffee?

We had a fun time talking about a few different subjects! As the Talkshoe teaser mentioned, "How Obama's speech was scary, Rush's speech was right and Israel is getting hit with rockets again. Also an example of using research to prove a point not made and a coffee shop that's heating up!" If you are in the Buffalo area and want information on the Tea Party, check out Political Class Dismissed.

I Hope the Policies of Obama Fail

I Hope the Policies of Obama Fail

Why are people shocked when Rush Limbaugh says he hopes Obama Fails? I don't think that there's a single conservative out there that misunderstood what he said in the transcript... turn about is fair play. The left did not give any quarter to President Bush when he took office and tried to be bipartisan. They shook his hand while they stabbed him in the back. Now, with the Obama administration in power and the Pelosi/Reid Congress behind it, the policies they are going to push will bring America the closest it has been to socialism since the Great Depression! They want to keep our country in a deficit and nationalize everything from medical insurance to banking and commerce. These are policies that I, as a conservative, can not stand for. These are the policies of Obama that I hope fail.

Episode 35: Fathers Throwing Spades while Saddam Pays for Pictures

An excellent show this evening! We were joined by Ron Skytower of the Conservative Matters Podcast and Adam Graham of the Truth and Hope Report. Tom Millican, unaffiliated conservative Presidential candidate joined us in the chat room. Help him get on the ballot in your state! For more info on that, visit his website at http://www.tommillican.com! Ken was with us but almost didn't make it. In addition, Mr. Murphy joined in with some technical and non-technical problems. Even given the issues we found, we persevered. Here are links to the articles...

EPISODE Ninteen: Dark Nano TSA Apologists

(Edited to give it a less "questionable" title)

Warning! The title may be highly questionable but the content is NOT! Tonight we managed to plow through quite a few articles during the show and managed to put some innuendo into almost every one!

Ken had to comment about Florida's recent spate of school sex scandals including one where a substitute was test-driving boys for her daughter. Hatton had to ask if this is the new version of sex education!

Next we touched on the issue of a woman with a nipple ring that is demanding an apology from the TSA.

Ken had quite a few things to say about Florida's apology for slavery and we talked history for a while. Then we moved to the screamer, Howard Dean, and his call for superdelegates to pick a candidate by July 1, trying to combat Rush Limbaugh's Operation: Chaos.

Finally we had to touch on two issues that might be considered environmental ... the Tata Nano and the Hour of Darkness.

Thanks for listening! Please be sure to email comments to conservativepodcast@gmail.com and visit our Talkshoe page for scheduled recording times and to become a part of the show!
