Front Porch Political Talk Episode 61: Hopefully They Understand

We had another great time recording this episode, tangent conversations and all. As usual the input from the rest of the team brought up items that I had not even considered. Lots of food for thought in this recording, hope you enjoy!

Articles for Front Porch Political Talk #61: Hopefully They Understand

There is a general misconception that politicians and others in authority understand the full impact of their decisions. Generally there are aspects that are overlooked or underestimated. In this episode we are looking at articles where we hope they take in all of the possible outcomes.

Front Porch Political Talk Episode 52: Mouth Beats Brain

Despite the intro being a bit of an example where the mouth moved before the brain thought, this was a great show and covered a wide, exceedingly wide, array of topics. On that note I'm going to put a Parental Advisory Notice on this episode. We did get to the MSNBC article where the pundit made a comarison or stereotype about a certain group and some of their activities. If you don't want to have to explain adult hentai to your kids, don't have them in the room when you're listneing.

Something else that was mentioned at the end of the show, we will not be recording a new episode next weekend. Personal business will have me away from the computer next Sunday night so I we're going to take the night off.

Articles for Front Porch Political Talk #52: Mouth Beats Brain

While we often question logic or subtexts behind what is said in the news, there are also times when you wonder how some things come out at all. There are definite cases of the mouth working faster than the brain in tonight's set of stories!

Episode 220: Govicide- Comply

No show notes for the episode tonight, we had an interview with Edward Dentzel, author of Govicide: Comply.  We did have a bit of a conversation about personal responsibility and the other news of the week.  The interview provides excellent insight into the novel and gives a taste of the story.

Episode 105: Commentary and Reasoned Debate

Tonight's off-scheduled show is brought to you by the letters "Y" (for yelling), "I" (for "impatient") and the number 42, which is either the average airspeed of a coconut laden swallow or maybe it's the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything. Or maybe both. Regardless, it's been a bit of a slow news week and with all the different issues that have come up recently with hot-button items, I felt it was time we talked about debating, discussions and arguments.

Some folks might wonder why we would bring up debating when we're a commentary show. That's part of the issue: some times people need to know the differences and seldom do they understand them.

Episode 101: Another Election Coming Up

As the show reaches the beginning of its third year, we find ourselves on the eve of another election cycle. Normally yearly elections are limited to the back of page 4 but this time there is such a wave of interest in government and politics that things are being watched quite heavily. Tonight we've got some election and eduction items to talk about as well as news about the fruit of congressional labor.
