Election Night Coverage

Yes folks, the election is finally upon us!  It is time for the citizens of the United States to practice their civic duty and cast their ballots for the people they feel best suited to serve the nation in a number of different races.  It is also time for people to vote on the various ballot initiatives that are presented to them.

I know that we're a conservative podcast, however if you follow us but not our ideology, it's still time for you to vote!  Let your voice be heard.

Now, for those of you that don't know who to vote for, I'll suggest that you take a peek over at and take their quiz.  Their "candidate match-up" compares your answers and priorities with the people running for office in the Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green, Constitution and Justice parties.  Not all candidates will be on all ballots but this gives you a percentage comparison for you to go on.

Tomorrow night we've got a special treat lined up for everyone!  Polls start closing at 7pm Eastern and that's when the traditional round-table podcasts will begin.  Adam Graham, host of the Truth and Hope Report will be providing the call-in space for 4 discussions, spaced to match the various poll closings.  Here's the schedule:

Episode 151a: Election Night coverage

We waited until 9pm Eastern for the polls in New York to close before we started, but once we did it was a fun time with special guests Adam Graham of the Truth & Hope Report and Kirk and "Shamrock" Jim of The Zoo Radio Show.  Clocking in at 2 1/2 hours, this episode included results, analysis and robo-calls!  Special closing music was "When You're Holding a Hammer" thanks to Adam for pointing it out to me and courtesy of the folks at

Taking a Weekend Off

Everybody needs a vacation sometimes!  This upcoming week is one for me (Hatton) and things are playing out that the podcast can't be recorded.

So we thank everyone for following the show and invite you to join us next weekend when we pick things back up!  If you're dying for a conservative political podcast to listen to this week, here are a few that I listen to:

The Zoo Radio Show is a weekly show that records on Tuesdays at 8:30pm
Oatney on the Air is an off-schedule show by David Oatney
The Truth and Hope Report is a blog and podcast by Adam Graham

Additionally, here are some of the articles that have been shared in the past week - depending on the news cycle they may or may not make it in to next week's show:

After Sensationalized TV Report, Vandals Strike Nashville Mosque - This is an example of the fact that regardles of how well educated and "tolerant" a society can become, there is still ignorance, fear and hatred.

Cocaine found hidden among Valentine roses - I've heard of an intoxicating smell but come on!

Christian speech targeted as 'hate' - From the article - The note said, "You people are like the KKK but only in the form of religion ... you should be ashamed of yourselves." Guess the statement I made on the first article applies to this one as well - only this time the hatred seems to be coming from people that are demanding "tolerance."

NY boy, 11, faces charges over pencil attack - Right, let's arrest the students using pencils as weapons, not the ones using guns, knives and drugs. Great choice!

New York Senate Expels Monserrate Over Assault - Here's a lesson for anyone that wants to be in the New York Assembly - don't beat on your girlfriend... it could loose you your job!

Governor Paterson: "only way I'm leaving early is in a box""The only way I’m not going to be governor next year is at the ballot box, and the only way that I'll be leaving before is in a box..." BEST. QUOTE. EVER.

Comptroller: School reserves too rich - Given the economic crisis in New York, I don't blame the schools for stockpiling money. It's a bitch of a thing to have half your budget disappear.

Beer May Be Good for Your Bones - To quote Benjamin Franklin: "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

Have a great weekend everyone and be sure to join us for the podcast next week!

Episode 62: The Purpose of Their Actions

A good show for Superbowl Sunday! Ken was out so Adam Graham of the Truth & Hope report joined us. Tonight we talked about Obama's Executive orders & Memos, the Stimulus package and the election of RNC Chairman Michael Steele. I have cleaned up the audio somewhat, bringing Adam's volume up substantially. If you downloaded the show from Talkshoe on Sunday you may want to re-download it. Links to items discussed in this show:

Thanks to all of you who listen and participate! If you have any comments, email us at or join on for another show. If you liked the show, tell three friends or blog about us. If you didn't come back next week when you'll hear different words in a different order.

Episode 58: Richardson, Israel, Taxes ... and Leather?

Great first show of 2009! There was a good crowd in both SecondLife and in the TalkShoe chat rooms. We were joined about half-way through the show by Adam Graham of the Truth & Hope Report. We even had a quasi-liberal in SecondLife that was nice enough to throw in comments every now and then! A reminder about our "calls for help". We're putting out a call for guests to help us out by opening the show for us. It can be live during the show or it can be pre-recorded and sent via email. We're also looking for feedback about the concept of East Coast Conservative merchandise. Please email us at with thoughts and ideas. Tonight's conversation brought out some interesting phrases such as, "Taxing to Prosperity", "Pounding the poo" and "Duck & Cover". Reference articles:

2009 is going to be a fun year for a number of different reasons! Thanks to all of you who listen and participate! If you have any comments, email us at or join on for another show. If you liked the show, tell three friends or blog about us. If you didn't come back next week when you'll hear different words in a different order.

Group Thera...podcasting

After last night's show I had the chance to join in with Adam Graham of the Truth and Hope Report and David Oatney of Oatney on the Air. We spent an hour and a half talking about a number of different issues -
  • Georgia U.S. Senate runoff results
  • the unseating of Congressman William Jefferson in Louisiana due to corruption.
  • The automotive industry workers prayer support
  • The decline of newspapers in America.
  • The state of the "war" on drugs.
I'm considered a "guest" on the show, which you can download from Here. If you like the show I suggest that you subscribe to Adam and David's shows as well!

Episode 46.5: Talking About the Bailout

Since we did not have enough time to cover the bailout bill (dubbed "Crap Sandwich Rev. 2"), Ken and I decided to dedicate a whole episode to it. We were joined by Adam Graham of the Truth and Hope Report as well as Matt Myers from Myers Accounting and Canalside Financial. We spent most of our time talking about the bailout, the market and financial matters.

Click Here to Download the Show. Thanks for listening! Be sure to join us for our regular show on Sunday Night at 8:30pm EST / 5:30pm PST!

EPISODE 24: Mike Wilson Plays Bully with Florida's Flying Votes

Had a bit of a hiccup at the start of the show and had to re-start the recording. Sorry to anyone that was streaming for the original recording and hope you were able to join us for the actual show. Keeping the theme of the light-hearted start, we had to talk about the Florida senate's attempt to fine people that like to decorate their trucks with nuts (bull's, that is). Along the same lines but not at all, the discussion went to an article about a republican trying to get Playboy and Penthouse out of military exchanges (stores). A Detroit professor got his son a bottle of lemonade and then lost his son to CPS for 6 days because it was Mike's Hard Lemonade... something the dad had never heard of. The informal poll in our chat room showed that everyone knew what it was in our audience. Something that Floridians are finding hard to swallow is the fact that their delegates still don't count. A group went to DNC headquarters to protest. We were joined by Tom Millican and Adam Graham to discuss this issue. Finally, for our local issues, Ken talked about the kidnapping of a 26 year old and his family's reward offer. Hatton talked about the debacle that has erupted in his sleepy little village. We thank everyone for listening! If you like the show, please tell your friends. If you want to join in on the show, watch our home page for the recording schedule (traditionally every Sunday night at 8:30pm EST). You can become a part of the show! Talkshoe provides for live-chat as well as the ability for people to call in. Our number is 724-444-7444 and the talk-cast ID is 75570, we'd love to have you on the show! EPISODE22: Teachers Battle Dark Divorces

Quite the list of topics for the evening! We thank Adam Graham of the Truth and Home Report and Robert of Radio free Dixieland.

As has become custom, we started with some weird news to loosen up the brain cells, then we dove headlong into the topics!

Family values set the tone of the conversation right from the beginning, starting off with an article that put a $112 Billion bill on divorce and unwed parenting! We went on for a while about the concept of parenting and marriage and then went right into an article about a court case in Virginia regarding a same-sex custody battle.

While we were talking about same-sex couples, we had to touch on the ruling by a Florida judge, upholding the decision to ban a "Gay Awareness" club in a high school.

Then we decided to talk about matters Green - namely the Dark Side of bio-diesel. Robert reported that he had purchased a conversion kit to run his car on E85 but switched back to Unleaded because of the barely unnoticeable difference in price based on mileage and efficiency.

To wrap up, Ken provided us with an update of sorts on the Teacher sex scandals. Apparently the union and some other folks are saying that the scandals are happening because some of the teachers aren't classically trained. We went on for a while on things that are the same and things that have changed.

Tune in next week! We record live every Sunday at 8:30pm. Comments can be left here on the website or emailed directly to Next week we plan on talking about hormones, the health of our children and what some companies are doing about it. It promises to be quite fun!

EPISODE Twenty: China Bears Mesi Lama

We went quite less "racy" when it comes to topics but no less interesting.

Right off the bat, a quick tribute to Charlton Heston, who passed away Saturday.

China has decided that their atheistic views lets them dictate to the religious beliefs of others, including telling the Dali Lama that he can't reincarnate without their permission. This is yet another in their attempts to exert their power over Tibet. Recently they accused Tibet of trying to organize suicide groups. Tibet fired back pointing out that the monks accused of starting recent violence were Chinese soldiers in disguise.

Ken pointed out that Russia has been "flexing it's muscles", once in a Buzzing of the USS Nimitz (article on second page) and then when fighters escorted more bombers off the Alaska coast.

New York has another athlete running for office. "Baby" Joe Mesi has announced that he is going to run for the State Senate.

Finally in the "don't do this" column, we hear of a local man who thought it was okay to invite kids into his car to help him find his lost dog. When the news came out, he went to the Police and proved that he really did loose his dog.

Thanks for listening! If you like our show check out the Truth and Hope Report with Adam Grahm or Oatney on the Air.

Please join us if you can, call in at 724-444-7444, talkcast ID 75570. You can email comments to or leave a comment on the post.
