Episode 305: Compliance Factor

Happy Halloween! My apologies again on the delay of posting the episode. I should be back on my regular posting schedule starting with the next episode.  We made it through more of the articles and had a good discussion, the biggest question of compliance seems to be with some newly enacted laws.  I also have to share that, given the opening article, my son is going at Darth Vader for Halloween.

Articles for Episode 305: Compliance Factor

After talking about the concepts of the "Thought Police" last week, I thought it would be fitting to take a look at some areas where compliance is necessary. This necessity is driven either by requirement or in some cases common sense. In this episode we'll be looking at quite a few different items that have been brought up over the past few weeks, not all of them health care related.

There were a lot of other articles to read throughout the week.  Here are a few that are worthy of giving another look:

Episode 304: Thought Police

This had to be one of the more vocal episodes that we've had in a while. Definitely on-topic and thought provoking! We didn't manage to make it through most of the examples and some of them appear to be, "business as usual." We also were thrilled to welcome Naj back to the show after a bit of a hiatus.

Articles for Episode 304: Thought Police

One of the things that is said constantly on this show is that people should make their own decisions about what's going on in the country and whether it's a good or bad thing. Apparently there are those that would prefer it not be that way. In this episode we're going to talk about their attempts to convince, sway or force the American public to look at events though their particular lens. Articles for this episode:
Those that watch our Twitter feed at ECConservative will notice that not all of the articles tweeted over the past week are showing up here this time. We had something of a "twittersplosion" and the articles below are the more relevant (or less repetitive) of the activity.

Episode 303: Cracks in the Facade

Yet again we have a case of an episode post lagging the recording by a week... I have plenty of reasons but again I apologize.  Maybe I should take a pay cut...

It turns out that folks didn't really disagree with the premise of this episode, that more and more of the American public are starting to see through the cracks at what's really going on in Washington.

Articles for Episode 303: Cracks in the Façade

There is so much media coverage about the failing health care websites and continued shutdown that we're going to be looking at other things in this episode. We're looking deeper, past the posturing and endless press conferences at some of the signs that the government is starting to crack.

Be sure, there are those stalwarts that will stick to their… positions. There are also articles that are coming out showing very disturbing events that, if done by anyone else, would generate calls for termination if not prison time. Their façade is starting to crack all over the place and even their usual cheerleaders can't patch everything up. Articles for this episode:

Episode 302: Out of Control

Well, I managed to forget to post this episode to the website for an entire week! There's really no excuse for that and I apologize. I could be snarky and blame it on the shutdown... but that'd be inaccurate.

It's extremely obvious that those making the decisions about what's being hit by the shutdown are picking the most painful aspects of government services to close. Thankfully, it appears that the American public isn't taking this, "cause pain and blame the other guy," technique all that well and there's not a lot the media can do to spin it.

Articles for Episode 302: Out of Control

The government shutdown is here and in full effect. It seems like, as with the sequester, administration officials are working to make it hurt the American people as much as possible. Democrats seem to be turning at best a malevolent stare at the people caught in the middle of a debate that should have happened years ago. At worst they appear to be actively working to come up with new ways to cause pain.

In all of this there are other things going on, but the antics of elected and appointed officials again capture our attention. In this episode we're going to talk about the shutdown, the not-so Affordable Care Act and other news items from the week. Articles for this episode:

Episode 301: What Are We Fighting For?

Most of the time we welcome input from people of all sides, in this episode we had to take the time to discuss a variety of areas that we feel are important enough to fight for. These weren't points for debate, rather they are things that we see the government, the democrats and the media are doing to try and change the nature of our country.
