Episode 198: Words Mean Things

I've said the phrase, "words mean things," for quite some time. This time it was the subject for the show.  We got rather side-tracked on a couple of articles but made the point.

We are still asking our listeners to nominate us for the 7th Annual People's Choice Podcast Awards.  We're running in the "Politics/News" section and the number of nominations actually impacts a show's placement on the voting when all is said and done.  Only the top 10 shows nominated will be eligible to be voted on.  We're asking for your help in putting us in the "Politics/News" category at http://podcastawards.com/.  You can only put one nomination form in, so if there are other podcasts/genres you want to nominate for, get them together and submit them before September 30th.

Listen to our show and many other great conservative podcasts, streamed 24/7 on the Red State Talk Radio Network. Visit their site at http://www.redstatetalkradio.com. You can also find the show on Stitcher radio, a new mobile-only service for the iThings and Android. Learn more at stitcher.com.

Please be sure to participate in our t-shirt poll to let us know what kind of interest there would be. Email comments to conservativepodcast@gmail.com or post them on the site. If you like what you heard, blog about us and tell five friends! Better yet, visit our Facebook page and follow the show there! If you didn't like the show, we invite you to come back next week for different words in a different order.

Episode 196: Remembering, not Repeating

We take time in this episode to reflect and remember the people impacted by the events of 9/11.  That said, we can't stop everything that we do simply because we mourn, and so after a moment of reflection we move on with our conversation.  Tonight we had a good show with many different topics covered.

Episode 195: This is Supposed to be Organized?

This was a fun episode to record and, as has been the case lately, we didn't get through all of the articles!  There's a lot to discuss beyond the items we managed to cover here.  Be sure to check out the show notes for the articles and video we reference in the show.

Two links I mentioned that I'd add when I posted the show; first was for an article written by one of our listeners and posted here in October of last year entitled The Tipping Point.  The second was for a sci-fi short I recently listed to over on EscapePod, entitled Union Dues – Sidekicks in Stockholm which I listened to and then heard about the September 17 stuff.

Articles for Episode 195: This is Supposed to be Organized?

We often hear the President referred to as a, "community organizer." Unfortunately, I think he may have lost his skills in the organization department long ago, as the articles we have on tap for this episode point out a large amount of confusion and discontent, even within his own power base.

Also, you may notice a poll on the right-hand sidebar of the site. We're looking at a new way to create high-quality silk-screened t-shirts at an affordable cost. It's my own opinion that the shirt designs may sell better if we don't rely on an outside service for the production and delivery. Unfortunately for that to work we need to know what kind of demand we have from our listeners. Please take a moment to answer the poll before it closes on 9/19 so we can get a good idea of what folks want. Thanks!
