Episode 57: Obama's Tax Cuts

Well, it's the last show of the year (we're taking next week off) and Hatton is in Oklahoma. After some discussion of travel and gas prices, we focused on three items: 1. Gov. David Patterson's new budget, which includes such absurdities as a tax on sugary sodas, an increased tax on cigarettes and taxes on downloaded media sales. 2. In a stunning example of how different Islam is from anything the West understands, an EIGHT year old was denied a divorce request from a FIFTY EIGHT year old man. 3. Finally, buried deep on the second page in a single paragraph, Obama's finally admitting that his new economic package will include some tax cuts ... (go to the second page, it's there).

Episode 56: Conservative?

This show was a little difficult to record - there were some technical glitches with the stream and the mixer. That caused the delay in releasing it. Regardless of Mr. Murphy's presence, Ken and I talked about a bit of news: The Auto Bailout and the effect of the Unions and pensioners on the Big 3's bottom line. The bill failed and that's not a bad thing... but there are a number of sticky wickets to deal with when looking at a solution. Also, we talked about some little know news stories. One about Palin's Church and the fact that there were people in the building when it was set alight. Also the glossed-over story about the Oregon Bank Bombing. We couldn't help but discuss Blago and Illinois politics. Question with no answer: does anyone think Rahm Emanuel was involved? I personally think that Illinois should adopt a new state slogan... "Dead men tell no tales, but they can vote!" Finally we talked about one of the points of Conservatism - "a Strong stance against big spending Republicans and Democrats." In this portion, we came up with a great way to bring the economy back in line - if DC is so dead set on spending $770B to recover the economy, send it out as a stimulus check to all tax payers. Let them spend it back into the economy, use it to pay bills, buy a car or even invest!

In Case You Haven't Noticed

There's something new at the East Coast Conservative ... that would be blog entries! Because of the changes that have been made to the podcast, there are news stories that have gone unmentioned on the show. To make up for that, Ken and I are going to start posting blog entries throughout the week. By doing this, Ken and I can focus on issues on Sunday that need the full hour's worth of discussion. To see the entries, make sure you are subscribing to the RSS feed from our site. That feed address is http://feeds.feedburner.com/EastCoastConservative. Thanks for listening... and reading! If you like what you see and hear, tell your friends and blog about us. If you don't send us a comment and let us know why.

Don't Give the 9/11 Coordinators What They Want

From an article in the New York Times comes word that five of the men charged with coordinating the attacks on 9/11 have decided to forgo their trial. They have presented a request to confess in full. While on the face of this, it sounds wonderful, there are a lot of reasons that people aren't exactly jumping for joy. First of all, many families of the victims of 9/11 have been looking at these trials for closure. Additionally, these trials have been at the forefront of the Guantanamo military tribunals. The people who feel that it is their obligation to defend those incarcerated there are tying to use these trials to try and undermine the stance of the Administration.

Senator Schumer takes on Gift Cards

'Tis the season for giving, right? Well if you listen to Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), gift cards should not be a part of your spending.
"The truth is gift cards should come with a warning attached," Schumer said. "You need to know where to look and to look carefully with gift cards." Schumer said his office is frequently flooded with calls from angry consumers who were giving gift cards only to find they have a limited life or have a decreasing value after a given period of time, sometimes less than six months. "You don't get the complaints about them (gift cards) on Christmas morning," Schumer said. "You hear about them in March when someone goes to use them."

Group Thera...podcasting

After last night's show I had the chance to join in with Adam Graham of the Truth and Hope Report and David Oatney of Oatney on the Air. We spent an hour and a half talking about a number of different issues -
  • Georgia U.S. Senate runoff results
  • the unseating of Congressman William Jefferson in Louisiana due to corruption.
  • The automotive industry workers prayer support
  • The decline of newspapers in America.
  • The state of the "war" on drugs.
I'm considered a "guest" on the show, which you can download from Here. If you like the show I suggest that you subscribe to Adam and David's shows as well!

Episode 55: Wandering Topic Night

Tonight's show was a "Wandering Topic" show (hence the title). There were a number of things that needed to be discussed tonight, including the fact that 12/7 is the anniversary of the "Day that will live in Infamy." This brought up a conversation about the comparison of WWII to the attack on the towers, the current status of the mission and even what mission we're fulfilling now. This led to an examination of the situation of Ali al-Marri and what should be done about him. Another topic that came up was gas prices, namely the fact that Western New York still has the most expensive gas in the lower-48. As Toawa from Second Life suggested before, politicians are calling it price gouging. Ken pointed out that the two places that are really hurting from the drop in oil prices are our buddies in Iran and Venesuela. Finally, we could not help but discuss the bailout of the Big 3. Ken's disguested by the notion that Chris Dodd would require a CEO change at GM... that's up to their board, Senator. Some administrative notes - there will not be a show on December 29th.

Episode 54: Changing the Cabinet

Yes, folks, the show recorded a night early! Sorry for the short notice but there was a schedule conflict that would have made a Sunday recording impossible. So tonight we talked about the Presidential Cabinet, their roles and who Obama has picked for their seats. The general observation - it's Clinton's third term except for Defense, and that's only if Gates accepts. Also we talked about the Fairness Doctrine that is now being touted by the Democrats. Thanks to the Republican Party of Second Life for allowing us the use of their theater! Be sure to check out their podcast, Conservative Matters with Ron Skytower!

Episode 53: Snap Out Of It!

In keeping with the 4 stages of mourning, we decided to talk about shock and numbness... mainly because that's where we've been while watching the news and reading the blogs. Here are the things we talked about (or most of them at least):
  • Shocked by the naive presentation of opinion by MSNBC's "Terrorist" guy when talking about the Al-Queda tape referring to Obama as the "House Negro" (which can be found here).
  • Shocked by the final realization of Anderson Cooper that Hamas is antisemitic.
  • Numbed by the results of a recent Zogby poll.
  • Numbed by the fact that it appears the Fed is going to bail out Citigroup.
  • Shocked that people still don't understand that just because they can get news instantly, a war and a financial crisis can't be fixed instantly.
  • Shocked by the pure hatred that is coming out of the GBLT community in California.
There were a few other things in there as well. Some things that were good bits of news that I didn't have a chance to get links for before the show.

Episode 51: Changing Course and Format but not Foundation

Tonight's show marks a change in the direction of the podcast. We are moving away from discussing news articles and leaving the campaigns alone. With the Obama victory, we as conservatives need to identify what we need to do to bring the Republican party back into power! In addition, we are going to examine the statements that are being made at change.gov and hold them up to the light. Tonight we brought in our new show format - we have decided based on traffic analysis and download counts that our audience wants to hear about conservative stances on issues! Our most popular shows by far have been those where we were talking about the issues, not when we were waxing eloquently about the failures or successes that were identified in the news. Each week, we will be taking about two or three main things. Tonight, we talked about the following things:
Tonight we wish Happy Birthday to Silverblade Dagger, one of our most dependable listeners in Second Life!

Episode 49: Obama Yanks Virtual Card Charges for Real Green Days

Really fun night tonight, despite the threat of internet and power problems for Hatton. We covered a large range of topics and had a lot of fun doing it. We are still having problems with the mixer connecting so the opening was missing yet again. I have to mention our sponsor! Blockbuster's Total Access package give you access to over 85,000 titles that can arrive in your mailbox in as little as a day! You can even exchange movies in any Blockbuster store... all this for $19.99 a month! ECC Booth at Second Life Political Expo!

I got a chance today to place the show in a special open political exposition. We're in there with the same size booth as the McCain/Palin campaign, the Obama/Biden campaign, a "fairtax" booth, a libertarian booth and an anarchists booth! If you're in SL you can visit the expo by visiting this SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Jomtien/41/46/22?Title=East%20Coast%20Conservative%20Podcast%20Booth. You will also notice the slideshow that is running in the Expo. Since we do audio only, I had to come up with a graphical way to represent our show. Those images are made up based on the titles. I'll be updating previous episodes with image headers as I get them built. Enjoy!

Episode 48: Whales Suit Sweeden's Trip to Powell's Racist Rainbow Suit

A very well attended show tonight, with Ron Skytower of the Conservative Matters Blog stopping in and Silverblade Dagger and Jayspari (both from Second Life) calling in and adding their opinions! As always we thank everyone for joining in the discussion on SecondLife as well as the Talkshoe chat room. We did have a small technical glitch - the mixer could not connect, so the normal intro isn't there! Also, we have to mention our sponsor! Blockbuster's Total Access package give you access to over 85,000 titles that can arrive in your mailbox in as little as a day! Episode 47: Sudan Investigates Bradley's Episcopal Rainbow Cub Comments

Tonight was another case where we had a lot of news to cover and not enough time to cover it! Some of that might have to do with the fact that we took the time to discuss the issues to a greater extent than usual - but that's a good thing in this case, as it appears that the Mainstream Media doesn't have the time in the 24 hour news cycle to discuss anything other than campaign styles and the financial crisis! Thankfully there were quite a few folks in the SecondLife chat room that helped Ken and I discuss things that I haven't heard about elsewhere. Tonight we introduce our first sponsor! Blockbuster's Total Access package give you access to over 85,000 titles that can arrive in your mailbox in as little as a day! Episode 46.5: Talking About the Bailout

Since we did not have enough time to cover the bailout bill (dubbed "Crap Sandwich Rev. 2"), Ken and I decided to dedicate a whole episode to it. We spent most of our time talking about the bailout, the market and financial matters.

Episode 46: Diary Juice States Ray's Blue Bills Debate Child Tax

We're back on schedule and up to staff with Ken back from his trip. Tonight there were a LOT of things to cover in our short hour! As a matter of fact, we had to postpone talking about the Bailout for a show on it's own... look for something later in the week on that one! Great participation, both in Second Life at the Republican Party's new theater (see it, follow the SLURL to http://slurl.com/secondlife/Keen/128/115/22/?title=Republican%20Amphitheater) and in TalkShoe! Episode 45 Pre-Show: From Second Life

When 8:30pm EST rolled around, TalkShoe was in the middle of what turned out to be a power outage. Not wanting to cancel the show, I made the decision that the show would go on in Second Life. It turned into the "Pre-Show". About 20 minutes in I got a call that TalkShoe was back up; we moved the show there and had a blast. Special thanks to Gwyn Kilby of the Republican Party of Second Life for recording the audio!

Episode 43: Ike's Guns Target Beaches, Community Organizer Steals Record

Show got off to a bit of a slow start with some technical glitches but then picked up. We observed a moment of silence for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country and also to remember those who died on 9/11. Episode 41a: Don't Paint Palin with Obama's Messianic Brush

A short comment that I wanted to put out this morning - Sarah Palin is great for this ticket and great for the McCain campaign, but let's be careful not to paint her as some kind of messiah like the Dems have done with Obama!

Oh, and for those who want text versions of the items quoted from Obama's speech: Here are the quotes that I agreed with:
"... go through the federal budget line by line, eliminating programs that no longer work and making the ones we do need work better and cost less, because we cannot meet 21st-century challenges with a 20th-century bureaucracy."
"Yes, we must provide more ladders to success for young men who fall into lives of crime and despair. But we must also admit that programs alone can't replace parents, that government can't turn off the television and make a child do her homework, that fathers must take more responsibility to provide love and guidance to their children."
And the ones that I took special issue with:
"We are the party of Roosevelt. We are the party of Kennedy. So don't tell me that Democrats won't defend this country. Don't tell me that Democrats won't keep us safe."
"[We are more compassionate than a government] that sits on its hands while a major American city drowns before our eyes."
"If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from."

Episode 39: Clinton's Arresting Run Strikes Dog Dreams of Majority

A good show tonight, lots of participants in the chat and in Second Life! We have three things we're putting a call out for -
  1. As Ken mentioned last week, we're putting out a call for guests to help us out by opening the show for us. It can be live during the show or it can be pre-recorded and sent via email. If you're interested, email conservativepodcast@gmail.com.
  2. Next is something we desperately need. For those who have seen our website, it's very text heavy. I'm looking for someone that is more graphically oriented to help us design a logo, color scheme and layout to work with our site. Again, if you're interested, email.
  3. Finally, following up on something Ken mentioned in the last show, once we get a logo and brand set up, the idea has been floated about offering some kind of merchandise
Tonight's show had some technical issues with the streaming audio into Second Life. If you're experiencing these issues please let us know so we can notify the folks at TalkShoe! Discussed on tonight's show -

EPISODE 37: And Now For Something Completely Different

Tonight's show features an interview with Paula Banks-Dahlke. Paula is the endorsed republican, conservative and independence candidate for the 138th New York State Assembly District. She has also been endorsed by Tom Golisano in his quest to reform New York State Government and make it more responsible to the people of NY. She is running on a platform of reducing the out of control tax burden, creating a competitive business environment, reducing energy costs and providing true open and responsive representation. We had other things to talk about but the interview with Paula was going so well and we were having so much fun, the hour slipped past and we didn't get to them. We'll cover those issues another night I guess. If you want to contact Paula directly with questions or encouragement, visit her website at http://www.electbanksdahlke.com/ and if you want to contact her, you can use her Contact Form.

EPISODE 36a: Yes, Senator, It's about the Money

Why do I have to live in a state with such uninformed, liberal politicians?!? Today's news (link below) had me boiling mad at my radio again... My dear "Senior Senator" (don't you wish there was a home for them where all they could do is give interviews to dead cameras?) decided that he knows what Americans' jobs are, and "it isn't to increase the revenue of Exxon Mobile." No, Senator, it is not... but it isn't to pay higher taxes while you refuse to allow legislation that might actually do something for the economy and maybe even the environment to the senate floor. Episode 35a: (Not) Changing the Face of Politics

A quick comment - I've heard a couple of political ads and actions in the last couple of days that make me wonder why politicians think that we truly believe that they're going to change anything! Quick update: Jack Davis is NOT an incumbent but I have heard his name in politics for some time. He has been preaching a political change since I've lived in Western New York. I mean, seriously, if change is what you want, it's going to take electing a non-politician into office. Actually, it'd take electing a LOT of them into office simultaneously for change to truly take hold! Obama's promised change is what has bought him a lot of the disenfranchised, cynical votes. It's also what is going to crucify him if he wins and fails to deliver.

EPISODE 33a: East Coast Conservative Podcast Comment

Time for something new as a part of the East Coast Conservative Podcast! There are a lot of different things that come up every week that don't make it to our show. Sometimes this is because they get overshadowed by "hotter" news issues and sometimes they make the list but have to be dropped in the interest of time. Introducing the ECC Podcast Comment - short recordings made by myself or Ken on different issues. These aren't scheduled calls and are not recorded on TalkShoe, so the only way to comment is via email (conservativepodcast@gmail.com) or by adding a comment here. In the first comment - giving, and how conservatives/capitalists and liberals/socialists look at helping others differently. It's a matter of control, people. I was inspired by a definition I heard on the Dave Ramsey show. Also, I used the example of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and the episode with Daniel Gilyeat, a marine and single father of 4. EPISODE 32: Rulings Draw Lynch Graduation Gamble

This week was a tough one to pick articles for - there was SO MUCH to talk about tonight! In addition, my Step-father Jim called in and added his thoughts to the mix. We also experimented with a new concept - simulcasting the show into Second Life with the help of the Republican Party of Second Life. Be sure to check out their podcast, Conservative Matters with Ron Skytower. Articles discussed on tonight's show:

We thank everyone that listened in tonight... both in our chat room, on the phone and now in Second Life. We also thank everyone that downloads the past episodes and listens when they can. After the show I popped in to the auditorium to get feedback and reaction and it was all good, so I think it'll happen again!

EPISODE 31: Bumper Sticker Beliefs

We decided to move from the normal show format to have some fun with bumper stickers and other things. We found some bumper stickers and had an interesting time discussing them. In addition, we decided to point the truth in humor for the Top Ten Democrat Beliefs. Beyond those two topics, I had to bring up the So-Called Accomodation Laws that have been passed in Colorado, Iowa, Maryland and Florida. These laws allow 'trans-gender' people access to bathrooms of their elected gender rather than their genetic one. I also made mention of a new conservative podcast being hosted on Second Life by the Republican Party of Second Life called the Conservative Matters Blog with Ron Skytower. They're just getting things started but give them a listen when you get a chance! Click Here to download tonight's show. I'm putting the notes in an extended entry because of the vulgarity of some of the bumper stickers.

EPISODE 30: Supreme Suit Attempts Drive-in Jamming

Whew, managed to get the show finished without Ken blowing a blood vessel! We had some touchy subjects that had to be discussed, including some strange commercials and stranger practices. First off, we talked about some of the things that happened for each of our Father's Day - including Ken's relaxing day and my own day that included me preaching at my church (the sermon is posted at Sermon Practice). Other issues discussed:
  • Meet the Growler: Ken and I lamented on the loss of the aircraft we worked on together in the Navy, the EA-6B prowler, the need to the new bird and some of the good and bad decisions made.
  • Drive in church: A well-meaning Methodist is broadcasting to cars. I think it's an interesting outreach concept, Ken thinks it's nutty.
  • Kucinich's Impeachment attempt: A certified nut, Dennis has decided that he wants to charge Bush on everything from the war to Global Warming to the responses on Katrina. He never gives up!
  • Problem Gambler's Sue Casinos: Ken was floored by the fact that the Province of Ontario runs the casinos, I thought the people bringing the bill have merit, not because the state should be held liable for their gambling problem but because the state was not enforcing the law.
  • Supreme Court gives detainees Habeas Corpus: Ken almost lost his top on this one. I repeated the valid points that I had heard made by those who were in favor of this action.

EPISODE 29: Obama Promises Gaffs for Deserters

Tonight's show (okay, last night, I'm late posting show notes) went pretty well. Of course we had to talk about Hillary suspending her campaign and Obama's plans moving forward. Be sure to keep an ear out for my personal tinfoil hat theory on Obama and Rev. Wright. It may be crackpot but then again, they might be crazy enough to try it! Articles discussed tonight:
In addition to those articles we touched on the state of the USS George Washington, CVN-73. We talked about the state of "race relations" and a few topics from that. We also talked about a really great book entitled Freehold by Michael Z. Williamson. A great SF read! Thanks for listening! If you have any comments you can email them to us at conservativepodcast@gmail.com or post them as a comment here. Also, feel free to join us on the show every Sunday night at 8:30pm! EPISODE 27: Cheap Flying Libertarian Fights Fires

Quite an interesting episode this evening. Tonight I was joined by Matt Myers, a friend of mine, volunteer fireman, past chief and owner of Myers Accounting / Canalside Financial. Ken joined in late, having been to a wedding. We started the show off with a brief discussion of the life of the late Jimmy Griffin, former 4-term mayor of Buffalo who passed away at the age of 78 this weekend. Matt filled us in on some of the politics and personality traits that made him very well known in the area. From there, we looked skywards at the airlines and had a conversation aboutAmerican's $15 per checked bag fee. Later in the show, Ken (who worked at the Tampa airport for around 5 years) told us that American's employees were the most unhappy, especially after the company got permission to use the employee pension fund for operating costs in 2003. Everyone was in agreement that customer service in the airline industry has tanked and except for Southwest, nobody is happy when it comes to air travel any more. This conversation spurred off two side-discussions. The first was the fact that former Georgia Rep. Bob Barr is now the official Libertarian candidate. On a more interesting (and closer) note, Buffalo is beginning to stand out as a great place to On-shore technology and support projects! About this time, Ken managed to call in, so we tracked back to the airline conversation. Finally, there had to be something said about the fire on board the USS George Washington (Cvn-73). This is the ship that Ken and I served together on (see pictures from the fire). She is on her way to take over for the USS Kitty Hawk in Japan this summer. Fair winds and following seas to all those aboard! No lives were lost, which is the most important thing. Thanks to all for listening and have a SAFE Memorial Day Holiday! Take a moment to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and say a prayer for those who are on the front lines today. Click here to listen to today's show. If you want to join in, we record at 8:30 pm EST every Sunday night. Email comments are welcome at Conservativepodcast@gmail.com or you can add a comment to this post.

EPISODE 26: Happy Parenthood

Short-set of show notes because we spent a lot of time talking about a few issues. The California Supreme Court's decision to overturn the voter-approved marriage bill dominated the conversation... I think everyone knew that this would be the start of more fights, not the end. Also, while nobody is surprised that Orthodox Jews oppose the decision, the statements made by the Rabbi in the article are deeply disturbing and accurate. Also, while an Oslo zoologist says there are examples of same-sex couples in the wild, the numbers among humans, especially in the US, are much harder to pin down, but no more than 10%... still well in the minority. While on the subject of sex, we had to talk about the Planned Parenthood suit against Oregon Law that prohibits giving sexually explicit material to minors. They argue that kids should be able to watch porn. (Side note, in 2004 they handed out a book considered porn to kids in a conference that parents were not allowed to attend.) If you want to be "educated" by planned parenthood, there is a reference to Teen wire dot com (no link from here), a site that they have built for teens to learn about sex, diseases, birth control and abortion. Finally, an update on the McKinley High School issue that was reported in ECC Podcast 14 and 15. The report has been completed and is scheduled to be released on Monday. Until then we only have rumors as to it's contents. Thanks for listening! If you want to join in on the conversation, you can call in live. More instructions can be found on our talkcast page. Email comments are welcome at conservativepodcast@gmail.com or you can post a comment here on the website. Click Here to listen to tonight's show! If you like the show, tell a friend. EPISODE 25: Civics Lessons and Candidate Issues

This week we took a break from our normal format to go over how the Federal government is supposed to work. We also wanted to talk about some of the issues that candidates are proposing and how they would actually deliver them as President. Ken and I were joined by Ken's friend Chris as well as Paul (The Voice) Stanton. We started off speaking about the basic structure of our government, staying on topic as much as possible with a lot of laughing and a few of my "McCain" moments. When we got to talking about how a bill becomes Law, we all had to remember that great School House Rock short - How a Bill Becomes a Law (redundant but I didn't write the title). Also discussed briefly was the concept of Ammendments and veto powers. Finally, we hit the issues... the promises that the candidates have made. According to NTU, Obama has promised $307 Billion in new spending, Hillary's at $226 Billion and McCain is at $6.8 Billion. We went through a short list of promises... some are amanzingly dumb, most are pure pandering and in most of the cases we couldn't come up with a simple way to know how the candidate would deliver. Links to each synopsis are on the same NTU page. We thank everyone for listening! If you like the show, please tell your friends. EPISODE 24: Mike Wilson Plays Bully with Florida's Flying Votes

Had a bit of a hiccup at the start of the show and had to re-start the recording. Sorry to anyone that was streaming for the original recording and hope you were able to join us for the actual show. Keeping the theme of the light-hearted start, we had to talk about the Florida senate's attempt to fine people that like to decorate their trucks with nuts (bull's, that is). Along the same lines but not at all, the discussion went to an article about a republican trying to get Playboy and Penthouse out of military exchanges (stores). A Detroit professor got his son a bottle of lemonade and then lost his son to CPS for 6 days because it was Mike's Hard Lemonade... something the dad had never heard of. The informal poll in our chat room showed that everyone knew what it was in our audience. Something that Floridians are finding hard to swallow is the fact that their delegates still don't count. A group went to DNC headquarters to protest. We were joined by Tom Millican and Adam Graham to discuss this issue. Finally, for our local issues, Ken talked about the kidnapping of a 26 year old and his family's reward offer. Hatton talked about the debacle that has erupted in his sleepy little village. We thank everyone for listening! If you like the show, please tell your friends. If you want to join in on the show, watch our home page for the recording schedule (traditionally every Sunday night at 8:30pm EST). You can become a part of the show! EPISODE23: Green Bird Brained Tax Evaders

We had three "funny" stories to start off with this evening -
Sharpton Promises to 'Close This City' After Officer Acquittals

Woman Accused Of Murder Faces More Charges

Nader kicks off presidential campaign

We couldn't help but talk about North Carolina and Pennsylvania's interesting results.

We were joined by Tom Millican
http://www.tommillican.com/
http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/10178

Ken talked about Wesley Snipes who is now in jail for tax evasion.
We had an interesting discussion on the two party system, independent candidates and the concept of a North American Union.

Finally, Hatton brought up the Peace Bridge that has been turned down because of the Common Turn.

EPISODE22: Teachers Battle Dark Divorces

Quite the list of topics for the evening! We thank Adam Graham of the Truth and Home Report and Robert of Radio free Dixieland.

As has become custom, we started with some weird news to loosen up the brain cells, then we dove headlong into the topics!

Family values set the tone of the conversation right from the beginning, starting off with an article that put a $112 Billion bill on divorce and unwed parenting! We went on for a while about the concept of parenting and marriage and then went right into an article about a court case in Virginia regarding a same-sex custody battle.

While we were talking about same-sex couples, we had to touch on the ruling by a Florida judge, upholding the decision to ban a "Gay Awareness" club in a high school.

Then we decided to talk about matters Green - namely the Dark Side of bio-diesel. Robert reported that he had purchased a conversion kit to run his car on E85 but switched back to Unleaded because of the barely unnoticeable difference in price based on mileage and efficiency.

To wrap up, Ken provided us with an update of sorts on the Teacher sex scandals. Apparently the union and some other folks are saying that the scandals are happening because some of the teachers aren't classically trained. We went on for a while on things that are the same and things that have changed.

Tune in next week! We record live every Sunday at 8:30pm. Comments can be left here on the website or emailed directly to conservativepodcast@gmail.com. Next week we plan on talking about hormones, the health of our children and what some companies are doing about it. It promises to be quite fun!

Episode 21: Taxing Prickly Union Growing on YouTube

A long show tonight, for those that are used to the hour time limit, don't stop the player before the end! We started off talking about a lot of fun and interesting things, including the man charged with Assault with a Hedgehog.

Speaking of strange crimes, 12 members of Operating Engineers Local 17 have been charged under federal indictment with extortion and racketeering (indictment details). Even more interesting, 4 of them are out on bond.

A couple of other articles on teacher/student affairs, including a 27 year old that tried to marry his 17 year old student and a 40 year old married to a 16 year old. It seems to me (Hatton) that kids are growing up much to fast.

In some cases teens are now attacking other teens for "MySpace Cred." In Florida, 8 teens beat another to post the video on YouTube as did a handfull of teens in the Bronx. The father of the victim blames MySpace.

Our last issue was talking about New York's Millionaire tax, where the state of New York wants to charge 3/4 of a percent tax on any one making over a million dollars.

At that we were joined by Tim "The Heart" Lawson, host of Politicians and the Lies They Tell. We had an interesting time speaking and debating, and this took the conversation further on the time scale than we expected.

Thanks for listening! Click here to listen to tonight's show. Please email comments to conservativepodcast@gmail.com or you can join the call at 8:30pm on Sunday nights.

EPISODE Twenty: China Bears Mesi Lama

We went quite less "racy" when it comes to topics but no less interesting.

Right off the bat, a quick tribute to Charlton Heston, who passed away Saturday.

China has decided that their atheistic views lets them dictate to the religious beliefs of others, including telling the Dali Lama that he can't reincarnate without their permission. This is yet another in their attempts to exert their power over Tibet. Recently they accused Tibet of trying to organize suicide groups. Tibet fired back pointing out that the monks accused of starting recent violence were Chinese soldiers in disguise.

Ken pointed out that Russia has been "flexing it's muscles", once in a Buzzing of the USS Nimitz (article on second page) and then when fighters escorted more bombers off the Alaska coast.

New York has another athlete running for office. "Baby" Joe Mesi has announced that he is going to run for the State Senate.

Finally in the "don't do this" column, we hear of a local man who thought it was okay to invite kids into his car to help him find his lost dog. When the news came out, he went to the Police and proved that he really did loose his dog.

Thanks for listening! If you like our show check out the Truth and Hope Report with Adam Grahm or Oatney on the Air.

EPISODE Ninteen: Dark Nano TSA Apologists

(Edited to give it a less "questionable" title)

Warning! The title may be highly questionable but the content is NOT! Tonight we managed to plow through quite a few articles during the show and managed to put some innuendo into almost every one!

Ken had to comment about Florida's recent spate of school sex scandals including one where a substitute was test-driving boys for her daughter. Hatton had to ask if this is the new version of sex education!

Next we touched on the issue of a woman with a nipple ring that is demanding an apology from the TSA.

Ken had quite a few things to say about Florida's apology for slavery and we talked history for a while. Then we moved to the screamer, Howard Dean, and his call for superdelegates to pick a candidate by July 1, trying to combat Rush Limbaugh's Operation: Chaos.

Finally we had to touch on two issues that might be considered environmental ... the Tata Nano and the Hour of Darkness.

Thanks for listening! Please be sure to email comments to conservativepodcast@gmail.com and visit our Talkshoe page for scheduled recording times and to become a part of the show!

EPISODE Eighteen: Mean Black Theology Taxing Brains

It's amazing what is being pushed below the fold by the Mainstream Media when it comes to Obama! We found out this week that the church that he's been attending for 20 years is a model of the Black Liberation Theology movement. Here's some links:

The insanity of "black liberation theology"
An Investigation of Black Theology

To point further to that we talked about Rep. Dingle of Michigan calling for a 50 cent tax increase on gas to pay for the country's carbon offsets.

In addition, the ACLU has sued and won against Palm Beach county school district for low graduation rates among minorities.

Numbers are up but we still need to hear from you! Be sure to check our schedule and join us live on our Talkcast Page.
